The Badgers stay on the road with a game against Purdue, Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium at 2:30 pm.   Hopefully Bucky can finish the season strong with wins against Purdue and the Gophers.  Purdue comes into the game with a 5 and 5 overall record and 4-3 in the conference.   Of course Purdue’s shocker this year was the 49-20 smack down of the Buckeyes.  The Boiler’s head coach of Purdue is Jeff Brohm, the 36th head coach in program history.  Brohm has been rumored to be in consideration for the opening at Louisville where Brohm played.  The Boilermaker Special is the official mascot.   It resembles a  Victorian-era railroad locomotive and is built on a truck chassis.  Purdue has also had a recent tradition of sending defensive ends to the NFL.  Since 1999, Purdue has had 9 defensive ends selected in the NFL Draft. With their success in the NFL, Purdue has earned the nickname, the “Den of Defensive Ends”

Purdue’s football program has long been known for its prolific passing quarterbacks, ranging from players who have set School, Big Ten & NCAA records, to being named All-Americans and finalist for national awards, to being elected into the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Fames. This great tradition has led to the school being nicknamed the “Cradle of Quarterbacks”. When Drew Brees led the New Orleans Saints to a victory in Super Bowl XLIV, Purdue became just the second college in history to produce 3 different Super winning quarterbacks.

The overall record in the Badger/Boilermaker series is 49-29-8 with Wisconsin having the upper hand.  The Badgers have also won 12 in a row.
